请柬分为正式和非正式两种。正式的请柬用字不多，但格式很讲究，一般没有变化。非正式请柬是指适合于非正式场合的邀请信。这种邀请信的格式与一般的普通书信一样。但时间地点一定要写清楚。
1.注意事项
（1）第一行写主人的名字，主人若是以夫妇的名义发出邀请的，第一行就得写夫妇两人的名字。
（2）被邀请者的姓名写在第三行，被邀请的若是一对夫妇，也应写全夫妇两人的名字。
（3）请束上每句话后的标点都省略不用。
（4）在请柬的左下角通常还标有“R.S. V.P.”(R.S.V.P.是法语 répondez s'il vous plaît的缩写，意思是please reply,汉语意思是“请回复”），表示请束需要被邀请人回复。有的请束的右下角还标有“formal”的字样，被邀请人就应穿正式场合穿的礼服。
（5）出席婚礼的邀请信，一般以新郎或新娘父母的名义发出邀请函。
